Stephen is an LA-based art director and production designer. He grew up in San Francisco surrounded by art museums, used bookstores, and Karl, the fog. After earning a degree in Fine Art Painting, Stephen entered the industry through the indie world. Working on a myriad of low-budget projects in both the Bay Area and Los Angeles, he spent time in all the divisions of the art department: construction, set decoration, and property. Through all the music videos and scene shops, Stephen learned one key thing, his passion is to design and build sets. Big ones. The bigger the better, in fact.
After joining the ADG, Stephen took a break from film to study classical architecture at the University of Notre Dame, which he felt was the missing piece in his artistic education. Upon returning to Hollywood, Stephen picked up where he left off, art directing and assistant art directing TV shows. Only now, he can draft a full Ionic column including the volutes, and give it entasis.
Stephen’s notable credits include HBO’s Silicon Valley and the film Sorry to Bother You. He is available for whatever desperate undertaking you face next.
